On 18th August, the Economist Intelligence Unit released the World's Most Liveable Cities ranking, based on liveability index which includes 30 factors across five areas: stability, infrastructure, education, health care and environment.
And as you could guess, Melbourne tops the list for the sixth year in a row! Moreover, six of the top ten cities are in Australia or Canada. (Adelaide as the 5th followed by Perth at the 7th!) This might be a pretty good reason why everyone wants to come to Australia, right?
Let's have a look at the top ten listings here:

The Economist also added that the increased instability over the past year has caused a drop in the score of nearly a fifth of the 140 cities surveyed (see chart, below). Ten of these cities are in western Europe, notably Paris, which has suffered multiple terrorist attacks. Some American cities, including Atlanta, San Francisco and Chicago have also dropped down the rankings after spikes in civil unrest.

Let's see if Melbourne and other cities in Australia gonna make the top ten list again next year :)
